Laser Cladding Application Cases
• Keyway Feature Components
In this case, a specialized cladding nozzle is used in combination with an automatic laser on/off control software developed and exclusively owned by Phuong Dong. This system enables precise activation and deactivation of the laser beam along a predefined path, ensuring cladding is applied only where required, without affecting the keyway area.
• Deep Bore Case – Depth 1.8m, Diameter D280
This component features a large depth (1.8m) with an internal diameter of D280, requiring high stability throughout the cladding process.
With such depth, inserting the cladding head and maintaining consistent distance, angle, and laser stability becomes a significant challenge. Additionally, achieving a uniform coating layer from top to bottom requires optimized equipment and process parameters.
Phuong Dong utilizes a specialized internal bore cladding head, properly configured for deep insertion, combined with precise fixturing and trajectory control to ensure stable operation throughout the entire bore depth.
• Gearbox Housing D90 – Hard-to-Reach Area
This case involves a small internal diameter (D90) with limited accessibility due to the structural constraints of the gearbox housing.
Positioning the cladding head accurately while maintaining a stable working angle is challenging. The confined space also limits visibility and process control.
Phuong Dong developed a suitable fixturing solution combined with a compact cladding head, enabling precise access to the target area inside the component.
• Small Bore Case – D70
This case involves a small internal diameter (D70) with limited internal space, requiring high precision during the cladding process.
The small size makes insertion and maintaining a stable working distance difficult. Additionally, the coating layer must be tightly controlled to avoid dimensional deviation and ensure uniformity.
Phuong Dong applies a compact specialized cladding head, combined with precise trajectory and parameter control, ensuring stable processing and compliance with technical requirements.
