Instead of replacing the entire component, Laser Cladding can be used to rebuild the worn areas, restore the required dimensions, and improve the surface’s resistance to wear and cavitation.
After cladding, the guide vane is machined to restore the required dimensions and profile. Depending on the operating conditions, the cladding material can be selected to meet specific requirements for hardness, wear resistance, and cavitation resistance.
Laser Cladding allows the existing component to be reused, reduces the amount of material that needs to be replaced, and extends its service life, making it a suitable solution for high-value hydropower components.
